Business rentals on Amovens: A guide for car owners

As a car owner on Amovens, if you own vehicles that are not registered for private passenger or goods transportation, such as those on yellow plates or commercial vans, you can still rent out your vehicle through our platform. However, there are specific conditions and insurance requirements you must meet. Here is everything you need to know about listing and renting out your business vehicles on Amovens.

Vehicle registration and insurance

Non-private vehicles

  • Registration types: Vehicles on yellow plates or those classified as commercial vans and not privately owned are not covered by Amovens's insurance agreement for private car rentals.

  • Listing as a business vehicle: When you list such a vehicle on Amovens, you must register it as a business vehicle.

Insurance requirements

  • Mandatory insurance: As a business owner, you must have your own insurance coverage for all rentals. The insurance must minimally include comprehensive, liability and collision coverage, as well as roadside assistance. The insurance must not have a higher deductible than stated in our rental terms.

  • Roadside assistance: This service must be available at no extra charge and accessible 24/7 for all renters.

Responsibilities during rentals

Damage management

  • Owner’s responsibility: As a business owner, you are fully responsible for handling any damages that occur during the rental period.

  • Assistance from Amovens: While Amovens cannot be held liable for damages before, during, or after the rental, we can assist in collecting deductibles or damage costs from the renter once repairs are documented. This assistance includes helping with communications between you and the renter if needed.

Documentation required

  • Proof of repair: To facilitate the recovery of costs, you must provide documentation such as an insurance deductible billing from your insurer or an invoice and workshop report from the repair shop.

Tax and legal considerations

Tax obligations

  • Tax reporting: Any tax reporting related to the private use of business-registered vehicles rented out through Amovens is the responsibility of the owner.

  • Liability: Amovens is not responsible for any tax implications arising from the rental of your vehicle and does not assume any obligations or liabilities in this regard.

In sum

Renting out business-classified vehicles on Amovens involves specific requirements, particularly concerning insurance and damage management. By ensuring that your vehicles are properly listed as business rentals and fully insured, you can take full advantage of Amovens’s platform to generate income from your commercial fleet while complying with all regulatory requirements.
