Rental excess is the maximum amount of money the renter is liable to pay per damage incident in case a rental vehicle is damaged. If the car is damaged, the renter is required to pay the excess amount stated in the rental booking. The insurance will pay the rest.
When you book a car, the renter has the option to choose our standard excess, to reduce it, or to fully remove it. The price of excess insurance is always clearly stated when a car is booked.
If as a renter, you did not purchase reduced excess when booking the car, you can do so before the start of the rental by editing the booking. Please note that it is not possible to purchase excess insurance after the rental has started.
