Navigating the rules around kilometres when renting cars on Amovens can vary depending on whether you are opting for a Keyless or a non-Keyless rental. Here is what you need to know as a renter for both scenarios:

Keyless rentals

Included kilometres:

  • Included kilometres: When you rent a Amovens Keyless car, a specific number of free kilometres are included, based on the rental duration. These are intended to cover normal wear and tear.

  • Fuel costs: As a renter, you are responsible for the fuel costs during the rental period.

Managing kilometres:

  • Automatic tracking: The Amovens app automatically tracks and records the kilometres you drive from start to finish.

  • Purchase extra kilometres: If you foresee exceeding the included kilometres, you can purchase additional kilometres at a lower price than the price of exceeded kilometres when you book a car or before your rental starts. It is not possible to buy extra kilometres once a rental has started.

Exceeding your kilometre allowance:

  • Excess charges: If you exceed the included kilometres, you will incur charges at a rate 50% higher than the standard kilometre rate.

  • Settlement: All overages are handled within the app, and any charges are automatically processed.

Dispute resolution:

  • If you disagree with the recorded kilometres, you must contact Amovens support within 24 hours after the rental ends to resolve the issue.

Non-Keyless rentals

Overview of included kilometres:

  • Kilometre allowance: Similar to Keyless rentals, you get a set number of kilometres that cover wear and tear.

  • Fuel responsibility: You are responsible for the fuel costs.

Purchasing extra kilometres:

  • Advance purchase: It is advisable to buy extra kilometres at the time of booking if you expect to drive more than the included kilometres.

Procedure for exceeding kilometres:

  • Recording overages: You and the car owner need to manually record any kilometres over the allowance in the rental contract.

  • Cost of excess kilometres: Driving beyond the included or purchased kilometres will cost you 50% more than the regular kilometre price.

  • Settlement of overages: Excess kilometres must be recorded in the rental contract and settled via our app.

Handling kilometre disputes:

  • Documentation and agreement: The charge for excess kilometres occurs only after the rental contract has been completed via our app.

  • Immediate action required: If there is a disagreement over the number of kilometres driven, you must contact Amovens within 24 hours after the rental to discuss the discrepancy.
