How to locate your rental car

Whether you are renting a Keyless car or meeting the owner to pick up the keys, sometimes finding the vehicle might require a few extra steps. Here is how to ensure you locate your rental car smoothly for both Keyless and non-Keyless rentals.

Keyless rentals

For Keyless car rentals, where no physical key exchange is required, follow these steps to locate your vehicle:

  1. Check location in app:

    • Open the Amovens app 30 minutes before your rental starts.
    • Navigate to "Rentals" and select your current rental at the top of the page.
    • Tap on “Location” to see the car’s exact location on the map.
    • Make sure that you look for the car with the correct licence plate number. Several identical cars might be parked in the same area as your rental car.
  2. Troubleshoot location issues:

    • Refresh location: If you cannot see the car, close and reopen the app to update the car's current position on the map.
    • Underground parking: If the car is in an underground lot, check the owner’s instructions in the rental description for how to access it.
    • Imperfect geolocation: If the location seems off, search the nearby area, checking down the street in both directions or nearby streets.
  3. Contact for assistance:

    • If you still cannot find the car, contact the owner using the number found in the rental agreement in the app.
    • Alternatively, use the help feature in the app to contact Amovens support.

Non-Keyless Rentals

When meeting the owner to pick up the car keys, follow these guidelines:

  1. Confirm meeting details:

    • Double-check the time and place for your meeting as specified in your rental agreement.
  2. Communicate if delayed or lost:

    • If you cannot find the meeting spot or anticipate being late, contact the owner directly through the Amovens messaging system to inform them or seek further directions.
  3. Wait at the agreed location:

    • If the owner is late, wait at the agreed location while continuing to attempt contact. A reasonable waiting time is typically around 15-30 minutes.
  4. Seek assistance if needed:

    • If the owner does not show up or cannot be reached, contact Amovens support for guidance on how to proceed.

By following these instructions, you can handle any uncertainties in locating your rental car, whether it's a Keyless rental or a traditional key exchange. Amovens is here to support you to ensure a smooth start to your rental experience.
