Occasionally, your plans might change, requiring adjustments to your car rental. On Amovens, editing a confirmed rental before it starts is straightforward. This guide explains how you can modify your booking and outlines which changes require owner approval.

How to edit a rental

1. Access the edit feature:

   • Go to your rental booking located in your profile on Amovens.
   • Select the 'Edit Rental' function to start making changes.

2. Submit your changes:

   • Once you make the necessary adjustments, submit your request. The car owner will automatically receive a notification of your proposed changes.

3. Owner approval:

   • The owner has the option to either approve or reject your changes. Some changes, however, do not require owner approval and will be automatically updated in your rental agreement.

Types of changes and approval requirements

Changes requiring owner approval

• Adjustments to rental start and end times: Any changes to the start or end times of the rental period need approval.

• Additional kilometres: If you wish to purchase extra kilometres beyond what was initially agreed.

• Abroad insurance: Adding insurance for driving the rental car outside the country.

These changes are however automatically approved if the owner offers instant booking.

Changes not requiring owner approval

• Reduced excess purchase: Opting for a lower deductible for potential damages.

• Adding an extra driver: Including another driver to the rental booking.

Payment adjustments

• Automatic payment correction: When you edit a rental, Amovens will automatically charge or refund the difference between the original and new booking costs, depending on whether the rental becomes more expensive or cheaper.

Important notes

• Confirmation of changes: Your rental modifications are only confirmed once they are approved in our system. If the owner rejects the changes, the original booking is still valid.

• Editing deadline: The ability to edit a rental expires at the start time of the rental. Make sure to make any necessary changes before this cutoff.
