If you need to keep your rental car longer than initially planned, Amovens offers a straightforward process for extending your rental period once your rental has started. Here is how to extend your ongoing rental.
Access the extension feature
- Navigate to the 'Extend Rental' function found under the rental booking in your rental overview on the Amovens app or website.
Submit your extension request
- Once you decide how long you need to extend the rental, submit a request using the feature. The car owner will be notified about your request to extend the rental period.
- You can extend the rental for as little as one hour or up to a maximum that makes the total rental period, including the original booking, no more than 30 days.
Owner approval
- Approval required: Your rental extension is only valid once the car owner approves it. If the owner rejects your extension request, you must return the car at the original scheduled end time.
- Late return fee: If the car is returned later than the agreed-upon time without an approved extension, you may be charged a late return fee.
Included kilometres
- For each additional rental day approved in the extension, 150 km are included.
Payment for the extension
- Note that you cannot use discount codes or Amovens points to pay for the extension, and no period discounts are applied to extended rentals.
Timing of the extension
- The option to request an extension will disappear once the rental contract is concluded in the app. Ensure you request an extension before the rental period officially ends in the system.
- Immediate communication: As extensions are subject to the owner’s approval, request your need to extend as soon as possible.
