When renting a car through Amovens, understanding your responsibilities regarding traffic tickets, parking fines, and other related charges is crucial. Here is what you need to know to handle such situations responsibly.
As a renter, you are responsible for any tickets or fines incurred during the rental period. This includes, but is not limited to:
Parking violations: E.g. fines for parking in unauthorised or restricted areas.
Speeding tickets: Penalties received for exceeding speed limits.
Traffic violations: Any other charges due to traffic law violations.
Please be aware that when renting a Keyless car through Amovens, the owner is not obligated to ensure the car is legally parked or in a non-time restricted area after the rental period ends. Therefore, you are solely responsible for any tickets or fees that may arise if the car is found to be improperly parked once you have returned it.
If you receive a ticket or fine during your rental period:
Pay promptly: Pay any fines directly and as soon as possible. Delaying payment can lead to additional penalties or administrative fees.
Inform the owner: Notify the car owner through Amovens's messaging system about the ticket or fine, especially if it may affect them or the vehicle directly.
Expense claim: If a fine is not paid and the car owner receives a notice after the rental period, the owner may submit an expense claim via our platform. When the owner submits an expense claim for a ticket, you may be responsible for as a renter, you will receive the claim and can either accept or deny it. In case you deny it, our support team will review the claim. If it is determined that you are responsible, a charge will be made to your payment method including any applicable administration fees.
Transfer of liability: Depending on the terms of the rental and local laws, we might transfer the liability of the fine to you, requiring you to take responsibility for the payment.
Administrative fees: If Amovens needs to get involved in resolving unpaid fines, additional administrative fees are charged to you as a renter. The costs will be withdrawn from your payment car.
Familiarise yourself with local laws: Understand and comply with local driving and parking regulations to avoid common pitfalls.
Use GPS wisely: Some modern GPS systems can alert you to speed cameras and restricted zones, helping you steer clear of potential fines.
Plan your parking: Before leaving the car, double-check parking rules in the area to ensure you are not in a restricted or time-limited space.
Renting through Amovens means taking responsibility for how you manage and operate the vehicle. Paying attention to local regulations and promptly handling any tickets or fines can help you avoid additional costs and ensure a positive experience for both you and the car owner.
